WISHLIST: PSN (part one)

Lately, I’ve been more excited about the PSN titles than any of the full-blown ones that have been coming out for the PS3. This probably has something to do with the fact thought I bought a PSP (and can play the PSone ports on it) and the fact that the last PS3 game I played was Heavenly Sword and the intermittent, though extreme, suck drained me of some good-will. Here are a few games I’d like to see show up on the PSN.
1 commentNo SSF2T HD beta? Shame on you Capcom

This is a comment/reply on a recent blog post by Seth Killian on the CAPCOM BLOG from which I’ve stolen his posting image because it’s a pretty accurate representation of whats going on. Except maybe Sony Ken is 4 feet lower and getting nailed in the balls by Capcom Ken.
In the post he outlines reasons for not including a Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD remix beta with Commandos 3 on PS3, unlike our X360 counterparts will be enjoying on live:

WISHLIST: Future Rock Band DLC
Rock Band’s monopolization of my free time has extended to me day dreaming about the game when I’m not even playing. This happens at work, on the way to work, in the bathroom, while I’m playing other games, before falling asleep, on dates, in the middle of pleasuring Adriana Lima and while trying to uncatch whatever the Hilton/Lohan three-way may have given me…
Anyway, here’s a list of song packs I’d like to see offered:
6 commentsPS3 VR head tracking is a “head” of the game
![]()
Joystiq report’s that head tracking on the PS3 can be done without crazy goggles or any other third party Wiimote mods. Instead it just recognizes your face, neat huh!
Hey…wait a sec, that sounds vaguely familiar… PS3…Using facial recognition…I think I heard it somewhere…oh wait a sec… WE TOTALLY CALLED IT!!!!
4 commentsUS/UK PSN stores for international gamers (or “How I stopped worrying and learned to love Entropay”)
In an earlier post, Cow_Shed mentioned that it is possible to use a service called Entropay to get around using your own country’s Playstation Store. Basically, you put money on a virtual credit card (either in American dollars, or British pounds), and Entropay charges you a service fee of 4.95%*.
Here’s how to use it…

Somewhat disappointing… The series seems to have departed even further away from the original; instead accentuating the differences between it and DMC3’s special edition. Unorganized thoughts follow… Read more
3 commentsWhy the PS3 (update) and happy new year!

Happy New Year! 2007 good riddance, welcome 2008 and what will probably be THE decisive year for the PS3. Which brings me to a follow up to the very first ever post on PS mafia! And why I am still supporting the PS3 as the platform of choice. Read more
No commentsNew PS3 ads
I hate TV ads. I REALLY HATE them… nothing seems to piss me off more than the seeming trend of TV ads that “try” to be something they aren’t. They try to be funny, artful and most miss the mark. I prefer the ads that know what they are, the 30 second mashups of crap that try to sell or tell the general public who to vote for between breaks of watching the OC. So when the PS3 blog (the “official” one) made a post about their new TV ads, I rolled my eyes once more, especially since it was accompanied by more “scum of the earth” marketing talk than I care to expose my eyes too. However, the black metallic octopus ps3 thingy tempted a click and…well these aren’t half bad…with a catchy song to boot. TV ads I wouldn’t mind watching, wow, I’ve really got ps3 fanboyism bad or these ads don’t suck. You be the judge. The song is by Saliva and called “Ladies and Gentlemen” FYI. No comments

Bioware on the PS3?!?

It looks like EA has purchased Pandemic Studios and Bioware. The Pandemic part of the acquisition shouldn’t really shake things up too much, but new ownership for Bioware could, and very likely will, mean the end of Microsoft-published Bioware games. That means that future games will be cross-platform (it is EA after all). It’s very unlikely that this will put a port of Mass Effect on the PS3, nor its sequels either, but the future is looking up.
