PixelJunk Monsters Update (and some strategy)

I was a bit quick to judge PixelJunk Monster. Apparently “tower defense” games are an entire genre like “fps” or “rpg” (td?). So apologies for lumping it in with desktop tower defense. I finally purchased Monsters in full at the urging of a friend…and with a bit of reluctance loaded it up and played through the tutorial and easy levels once more…

Conflict: Denied OPS first impressions

Last week a demo with no real buzz or info hit the PSN, its name “Conflict: Denied OPS” which is confusing in itself doesn’t really say much either. So is this a hidden gem or forgettable fodder? Well, unfortunately its singleplayer experience is more the latter, however it does feature a coop mode which does deserve some attention.

Yakuza Kenzan and the Club “first impressions”

I use my pseudo Japan and Euro PSN accounts for two things, one, getting demos that aren’t released in North America’s region and two, getting a small dose of culture shock by watching commercials for the PS3 in other regions.”Yakuza 3″ or “(japanese characters) Kenzan!” as its known in Japan recently had its 2 part demo released. Not knowing any Japanese beyond “Hello, Goodbye and yes another please” I wasn’t expecting to understand much of the text or voice from the game. Buy hey, I played through the Devil May Cry 4 demo quite easily (no it’s not released…long story) and figured this would be similar since Yakuza was an action game…or so I thought. Read more
