Playstation 2.17 Firmware update….where’s the changelog
Well…this firmware sure did fly under the radar. I come home ready to play another round of NHL and get trashed by someone online, and it says I have to update my firmware. So as I was downloading… I decided to look for the official change log. But as of the moment I can not find one!!!
From what I have read from various forums it sounds like there is still no in game crossbar or any noticeable changes for the matter. It sure would be nice to get a list of the changes…even if it’s security updates, network optimization, or just installing a root kit…..I would like to know!!!!!!!
Well it finished installing now….I can play games again.

In an earlier post, Cow_Shed mentioned that it is possible to use a service called Entropay to get around using your own country’s Playstation Store. Basically, you put money on a virtual credit card (either in American dollars, or British pounds), and Entropay charges you a service fee of 4.95%*.
Here’s how to use it…
71 commentsA trick to bypassing the Canadian Playstation store
UPDATE: We have a guide up now HERE
I haven’t tried this myself as I’m still hoping that the prices will reach parity, but if you are tired of getting dinged on the small song downloads this might be worthwhile.

Update: Please see our guide to bypassing the Canadian store HERE
No? Well you probably aren’t Canadian then. However I happen to be located in the great white north and every Thursday when I get my trusty Playstation store update email and then go to actually purchase I’m reminded of the unfair pricing that is happening to Canadians.

No commentsHome delayed…

Sad sad sad news from the Tokyo Game Show, Home has been delayed. From reading details of what Home wants to accomplish and from reading what has been accomplished in the Beta, a delay isn’t a huge surprise, but a really unwelcome one. That October release date was obviously bull for awhile, and changing it to an indefinite “1st quarter 2008″ doesn’t exactly spark confidence that it will even be done by then. Sony could really meet people halfway on this…open the beta. Even with limited functionality, I would like to try out home and they can get their network code stable as they add more features.
