No SSF2T HD beta? Shame on you Capcom

March 16th, 2008 | Category: News

This is a comment/reply on a recent blog post by Seth Killian on the CAPCOM BLOG from which I’ve stolen his posting image because it’s a pretty accurate representation of whats going on. Except maybe Sony Ken is 4 feet lower and getting nailed in the balls by Capcom Ken.

In the post he outlines reasons for not including a Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD remix beta with Commandos 3 on PS3, unlike our X360 counterparts will be enjoying on live:

Playstation 2.17 Firmware update….where’s the changelog

March 12th, 2008 | Category: News, Playstation Network

Well…this firmware sure did fly under the radar. I come home ready to play another round of NHL and get trashed by someone online, and it says I have to update my firmware. So as I was downloading… I decided to look for the official change log. But as of the moment I can not find one!!!

From what I have read from various forums it sounds like there is still no in game crossbar or any noticeable changes for the matter.  It sure would be nice to get a list of the changes…even if it’s security updates, network optimization, or just installing a root kit…..I would like to know!!!!!!!

Well it finished installing now….I can play games again.

Yet another Capcom remake on the way

March 12th, 2008 | Category: News

Following the recent news that commandos 3 is coming with a HD beta of the new Street Fighter II Turbo remake, Capcom is also releasing a remake of 1942. It will feature online co-op. So Bionic Commando, Street Fighter and now 1942 have gotten the treatment, I wonder if Capcom is trying to cash in on their now grown up born in the 80s fans. Once this batch of games starts hitting the PSN, I really do hope the gameplay holds up because the nostalgia in me is just about busting. MegaMan 2 anyone? The remixed music high def edition.

PS3 VR head tracking is a “head” of the game

February 28th, 2008 | Category: News

Joystiq report’s that head tracking on the PS3 can be done without crazy goggles or any other third party Wiimote mods. Instead it just recognizes your face, neat huh!

Hey…wait a sec, that sounds vaguely familiar… PS3…Using facial recognition…I think I heard it somewhere…oh wait a sec… WE TOTALLY CALLED IT!!!!

Sexiest PSP phone mock up yet

February 18th, 2008 | Category: News

Yet another PSP phone mock up released today. Probably one of the nicest renders so far, and showcases some interesting new features. Although I’m not sure if I’m keen on the placement of the square button, but I may just be nitpicking.

PS3 does VR head tracking too!

February 01st, 2008 | Category: News

After Johnny Lee dropped his VR head tracking bomb on the gaming community, it became fairly obvious that the PS Eye was capable of doing the same thing. Well, someone has finally confirmed it, and an SCEA employee at that! The Cell is a beefy processor, especially when tackling highly parallel problems, of which image recognition is one. So Playstation-Mafia is just putting this out there to the Devs, but FACIAL RECOGNITION, that’s right, instead of using two infared sensors, how about just using the eyes on a person’s face. We know you have the algorithms for your camera’s Sony, time to move it over to the PS3.And am I the only one that wishes this kind of technology had been on Time Crisis IV? Or was I the only person who mistakenly bought Time Crisis IV?

Soul Calibur IV features Star Wars characters…

January 09th, 2008 | Category: News

soul calibur yoda

So I’m not one to rehash news that you can find on any gamer’s blog…but I had to rehash this because Soul Calibur is one of my favourite fighters and the inclusion of Yoda and Darth Vader (so far…) require mentioning. Complete and utter dismay type of mentioning.
